The environment teaches before the teacher

A learner's teaching and learning environment influences the outlook of various aspects of life. During the formative years, this can be reshaped and molded in accordance with the needs of the learner and the specific outcomes for the learner to contribute effectively, responsibly, and consciously, in society.

The climate of the environment in which the learner grows in, assists the learner with nurturing, or encouraging the learner to neglect knowledge. For example, a learner who grows up in an environment in which questions are welcomed, emotional expressions are regarded, are more likely to become bolder and confident in their ability, harnessing considerate outlook on life. On the contrary, a learner who grows in an environment in which emotional expressions are dismissed or any need (according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs https://youtu.be/lQHRjEIwvI8) neglected, is more likely to dismiss knowledge, and direct curious energy to elements that may be detrimental to growth.

Young learners are subconsciously unaware of the factors that directly influence their development and growth. Therefore, it is important for learners to parent consciously (see link for tips https://youtu.be/lQHRjEIwvI8)

“Children grow into the spaces we create for them — spaces of patience, presence, and love. When we nurture the environment around a child, we quietly nurture the person they are becoming.”
